TripRisk analyzes millions of road segments, real crash records, live weather, and time-of-day conditions to calculate the safest route for every trip. To deliver results in seconds, the entire road network and all supporting data have to stay loaded in memory on our servers — around the clock.
That takes a significant amount of computing power, and the infrastructure costs are substantial. Right now TripRisk covers the entire United States, and we want to keep it completely free for everyone.

We want to expand TripRisk beyond the US. Countries like Canada, Mexico, Australia, and across Europe all publish crash and traffic data that could power the same kind of danger-aware routing. Long term, we'd love to bring this to every continent.
Each new region means loading another national road network, integrating new data sources, and scaling our infrastructure to handle it. With enough support, we can bring TripRisk to drivers everywhere.
Beyond expansion, we're continuously working to improve the model itself — incorporating newer crash data as it's released, refining how we estimate risk on roads with limited data, and adding factors like road geometry, intersection density, and seasonal patterns. Every update makes the routes we suggest a little safer.

Congestion changes the risk profile of a road dramatically. We want to factor live traffic into every route, but traffic data APIs (Google, HERE, TomTom) charge per request — and a single route can require hundreds of lookups.
With enough support, we can integrate a real-time traffic feed and route you around dangerous bottlenecks. This is our top priority once we can cover the API costs.
