TripRisk is an informational tool only. Route risk scores, fatality probabilities, and “safer” route suggestions are statistical estimates derived from historical data. They are not guarantees of safety and should never be treated as such.
No route is “safe.” Every trip on public roads carries inherent risk. Choosing a route suggested by TripRisk does not eliminate or ensure reduction of your risk of injury, death, or property damage. Real-world conditions — driver behavior, vehicle condition, road construction, weather changes, and countless other factors — affect outcomes in ways no model can fully capture.
Always exercise your own judgment, obey all traffic laws, and drive attentively regardless of the route you choose.
TripRisk, its creator, and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this service, including but not limited to personal injury, death, property damage, or financial loss.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
By using TripRisk you acknowledge that you assume all risk associated with your driving decisions and that TripRisk bears no responsibility for the outcome of any trip.
Risk estimates are based on federal crash data (NHTSA FARS), federal traffic volume data (FHWA HPMS), weather conditions (Open-Meteo), and astronomical daylight calculations. While we strive for accuracy, this data may contain errors, omissions, or lag behind real-world conditions.
Crash records typically reflect a multi-year historical window and may not capture recent road changes, new construction, or emerging hazards. Traffic volume data is updated periodically and may not reflect current conditions on every road segment.
